Pregnancy and post partum tips

Having a baby? Congrats! Here is some advice to support your pregnancy and after care

· Women's health

Physiotherapy can be a game-changer during and after pregnancy. It helps manage pain, improve posture, and speed up recovery, ensuring both mother and baby stay healthy and comfortable.

Try these great movements during pregnancy

Pelvic Tilts:

  • How to do it: Stand or sit with your back straight. Gently tilt your pelvis forward and backward, engaging your core muscles each time.
  • Benefits: This exercise helps relieve lower back pain and strengthens the core muscles, which support the spine and growing belly.
  • Frequency: Perform 10-15 tilts, 2-3 times a day.

Cat-Cow Stretch:

  • How to do it: Get on all fours with your wrists under your shoulders and knees under your hips. Arch your back up (cat) and then down (cow), moving slowly and synchronizing with your breath.
  • Benefits: This stretch improves spinal flexibility, reduces tension, and promotes relaxation.
  • Frequency: Do 10-15 reps, 1-2 times a day.

For after birth care

Gentle Walking:

  • How to do it: Start with short, gentle walks around your home or neighborhood.
  • Benefits: Walking boosts circulation, aids in recovery, and gradually builds up your stamina.
  • Frequency: Begin with 10-15 minutes a day, gradually increasing as you feel comfortable.

Abdominal Bracing:

  • How to do it: Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Tighten your abdominal muscles as if bracing for a punch, keeping your back flat against the floor.
  • Benefits: This exercise helps to re-engage and strengthen the deep abdominal muscles, essential for core stability and back support.
  • Frequency: Perform 10 repetitions, holding each for 5 seconds, 2-3 times a day.
